Many mechanics in Path of Exile 2 Runes of Aldur League have been reworked, and all of them offer decent returns. All you need to do is pick one mechanic and then spend a great deal of time farming maps.

The problem with Rogue Exiles is that they spawn randomly in maps. If they appear near the starting point, it is hard to lure them next to an Abyss. Only when their spawn point is sufficiently close to Abyss can you kill them in that position, have them touched by Abyss, let them resurrect, then kill them again to obtain Heart of the Well and maximize your profit. For this reason, the more Rogue Exiles in a map, the better.
You may need some PoE 2 currency to roll tablets, but a tablet with Rogue Exile affix is worth roughly 40 to 80 Exalted Orbs, while one with the extra Abyss affix costs about 30 to 50 Exalted Orbs.
